Mr. Pogossov has graduated
from both, the “Theatrical School” in Moscow and the “Moscow State
Gnessins Music College” and has lately studied at “The State
Russian Academy of Music” with the voice Teacher Dmitry Vdovin. Already
in 1997 Mr Pogossov was awarded in the “Russian's National Bella Voce
Competition” in Moscow and one year later in the “International Dvorak
Competition” in the Czech Republic. During the 1999-2000 season,
Rodion Pogossov sang as a solist of the Moscow Municipal Novaya Opera,
where he made his debut as Papageno in the MAGIC FLUTE.
For 2000 - 2001
seasons Rodion Pogossov joined the Metropolitan Opera’s “Lindemann Young
Artist Development Program” in New York, where his voice teacher was
Mark Oswald. During that season Mr.Pogossov made his Carnegie Hall
debut with The Metropolitan Opera Chamber Ensemble presenting
Stravinsky's RENARD under the baton of James Levine. In the following
season (2001 – 2002) Pogossov made his debut as the Herald
in OTELLO at the Met's Opening Night Gala and also performed the
roles of Marullo in RIGOLETTO and Fiorello in IL BARBIERE
DI SIVIGLIA at the Metropolitan Opera. In 2003 Mr. Pogossov sang a
recital concert Carnegie Hall with the pianist Ken Noda.
