Stefano Secco was born in 1973 in Milan. He started his musical studies very early (voice and piano) under maestro Alberto Soresina. He made his first a diploma from the Accademia di musica Moderna as a drummer and accomplished his studies at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory as a singer. Additionally he studied singing with Giacinto Prandelli and Franco Corelli.  He has participated the master classes of Leyla Gencer and Renata Scotto. In 1995 Secco wan the international As.Li.Co-competition and has received also many other international prizes such as Jussi Björling-prize, Mario Lanza-prize and Flaviano Labó-prize etc. In 2001 he was given the Benjamino Gigli Award in Finland.

The young tenor has already sung on many major Italian opera houses among them Parma, Turin, Verona Cagliardi and Rome. In March 2001 he made his debut at the La Scala in Milan as Alfredo in “La Traviata” with Riccardo Muti as conductor and in April he sung Arturo in Bellinis “I Puritani” at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania. In September 2001 he sang "Rigolettos" Duca in Frankfurt and “Luisa Miller’s” Rodolfo in Essen, Germany. In 2002 Mr. Secco will be back in la Scala, he will sing at “Maggio Musicale” Festival Florence and visit at the Philadelphia Opera.

Besides the lyric Italian tenor roles as Fenton in “Falstaff”, Rodolfo in “La Boheme”, Conte di Mantova in “Rigoletto” Osiris in “Moses in Egypt” Mr. Secco sings concert repertoire as “Messa di Gloria” by Puccini, “Te Deum” by Berlioz and “Stabat Mater” by Rossini. more ->
